Chase Ultimate Rewards® travel portal

The Chase Ultimate Rewards® travel portal allows you to use your points to book travel including flights, hotels, rental cars, things to do, cruises, vacation rentals, deals and more. Their travel booking engine is powered by Expedia, so you’ll usually get some pretty good deals.

The real bonus comes when you use a premium Ultimate Rewards card to book travel. The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card credit cards give your points a 25 percent boost when you redeem through Chase TravelSM.

Using a Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card card boosts your point value by 50%.

Chase Ultimate Rewards® transfer partners

If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, you can transfer your ultimate reward points to select hotel and airline travel partners.

All transfers are completed based on a one Ultimate Rewards point to one partner program point basis in 1,000 point increments. Occasionally, bonus points may be offered for certain travel partner programs.

Multiple credit cards earn Ultimate Rewards points

Chase offers a handful of cards that allow you to earn Ultimate Rewards points. Here’s how each card can earn Ultimate Rewards points along with any applicable annual fees you may have to pay.

With the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, you can earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That's $750 when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®.

You’ll also earn 5X points on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards, 3X points on dining, 2X points on all other travel purchases, and 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases.

Chase Freedom Flex℠

You can earn a $200 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Free credit score

Chase offers a free VantageScore 3.0 credit score powered by TransUnion as well as credit alerts about changes to your credit, weekly score updates, and a score simulator through their Credit Journey tool.

You don’t even have to have an account with Chase to get a free credit score using Credit Journey.

Annual travel credits

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card offers up to $300 in statement credits each account anniversary year as reimbursement for travel purchases charged to your card.

Global Entry or TSA Precheck credit

You’re eligible to receive a statement credit of up to $100 once every four years as reimbursement to pay for the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS Fee Credit.

You must charge the application fee on your Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card to get the statement credit.

Airport lounge access

You and your authorized users get access to 1,300+ VIP airport lounges worldwide with Priority Pass™ Select membership. You have to activate your membership to take advantage of this feature offered on the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card.

Luxury hotel & resort collection benefits

If you hold a Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card, you may qualify for special benefits at hand-selected top hotels and resorts including:

  • Complimentary room upgrades
  • Complimentary meals
  • Early check-in/Late check-out
  • Special discounts or credits
  • Extra amenities

Trip cancellation/interruption insurance

On Chase cards that offer this benefit, you can be reimbursed up to $10,000 per person and $20,000 per trip for pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses for things like fares, tours and hotel bookings if your trip is canceled or cut short by sickness, severe weather or other covered situations.

You must pay for these expenses with your eligible card to qualify for the coverage.

Auto rental collision damage waiver

The auto rental collision damage waiver offers primary coverage and reimbursement up to the actual cash value of the rental vehicle if the vehicle is stolen or receives collision damage.

While this covers most rental cars in the U.S. and abroad, there are exceptions. You must decline the rental company’s collision insurance and charge the full cost of the rental to your eligible card to qualify for this coverage.

Lost luggage reimbursement 

If you or an immediate family member check or carry on luggage and that luggage is damaged or lost by the carrier, you have coverage of up to $3,000 per passenger.

You must pay for the fare with your Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card to qualify for this coverage.

Trip delay reimbursement

Trips on a common carrier that are delayed more than 12 hours or require an overnight stay qualify for reimbursement of unreimbursed expenses like meals and lodging of up to $500 per ticket. This benefit is for you and your family.

You must pay for the fare with an eligible card to qualify for this coverage.

Emergency evacuation & transportation

If you, your spouse or legal dependent under age 18 become injured or ill during your trip and it requires emergency evacuation, you’ll be covered up to $100,000 as long as you paid for the trip with an eligible Chase card and the trip includes travel by a common carrier.

Purchase protection

New purchases are covered for up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account for damage or theft within the first 120 days.

You must make the purchase on an eligible card to qualify for this coverage and exclusions do apply.

Return protection

Eligible cards offer the ability to return items for up to 90 days from the date of purchase that the store won’t take back. This is limited to $500 per item and $1,000 per year.

You must use an eligible card to make the purchase to qualify for this protection.

Extended warranty protection

This feature extends the time period of a U.S. manufacturer’s warranty by an additional 12 months as long as the original warranty is three years or less.

You must pay for the purchase with an eligible credit card to qualify for this coverage and meet other requirements.
